Evening folks I like the local history and information idea for adding onto the site. But - I personally use websites like this for two reasons: 1) To get a flavour of an area and see what local 'colour' or character there is. 2) To get specific...

Rain Stops Play

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Bike mag MBR has featured the Ciaran Path ride in the last couple of issues, telling the mountain biking world about some superb riding in the Glencoe area. So before the masses arrive and spoil it, lets get a run in.

Okay, so there had been a fair bit of rain. But that's not so unusual is it? Wrong!… Continue

The Order for the Glencoe Massacre

The Press & Journal today reports that the original document giving the order for the Glencoe Massacre will go on display at the National Library of Scotland this week.

The 318 year old document will be of interest to historians, but I suspect, anyone with an interest in the rich and sometimes turbulent history of Glencoe.… Continue

Ready for launch

I reckon we're finally ready for launch to the wider world. Have tweaked the layout a little and tried to make it look good and still be easy to navigate round. I've also added in a couple more features such as the ability to import photos from Flickr. And I see the membership list is gradually growing.

So, unmitigated flop or uncontrollable beast...? Enjoy!

Ed I'd love to know how to do RSS feeds - not even sure what they do. Shall I buy RSS for Dummies, or could you point me in the right direction, please?
I've also Digged the new site and Twittered it.
Clachaig Gully naked, Ed. I dare you to set it up.

Less concerned by the first day and more by the first year. Just hope it has the legs to keep on going past the usual first bit of interest.

And feel free to look me up at Clachaig - but they keep me in a dark office at the back these days, so you'll have to ask for me.

Cheers!

This is a great site Admin well done. The photos were last December and I took my 15 year old son across the ridge. It was the most fantastic day out I have ever had on a mountain, Kieran never stops talking about it, an 11 hour day that ended up at minus 12, what a great father son bonding trip. I usually stay at the Clachaig so I may get to meet you later in the year.
