Fundraising for the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team

The Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team is now a registered cause with EasyFundRaising.

If any of you folks out there ever shop online, you could help raise much needed funds for the team with minimal effort and at no cost to yourself. It’s the retailer who pays a commission towards team funds.

Details of this scheme (I’m the Administrator) can be found at http://glencoescotland.com/p/v/mountain-rescue/fundraising or alternatively sign up at http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/glencoemrt

The plan is to get the word out in the coming weeks, especially with the Xmas shopping season approaching. And if we can persuade friends, family, neighbours, guests and so on to sign up then there is I believe a real chance to raise some meaningful funding.

Have a look, please, and if anyone has any questions I’ll do my best to answer them.

Excellent idea Ed. Didn't know of their existence. Have signed up.
Some time soon, I'm going to build my back email list of all past enquiries and guests at our cottage. I want to recruit them to our Facebook and Twitter accounts. But they need a reason to sign up and I'll have to dream up benefits for them as we go. This is a good and relevant one.
Oh blast. I've realy got to do it now, haven't I?

I’m guessing a few folks here have already signed up to this scheme. But if we are to have any chance of raising a meaningful amount, then we need more. And of course, you need to go through the EasyFundRaising site every time you shop online, otherwise no contribution will be made to team funds.

To help me, I could do with some feedback.

For those already registered, how about posting a few words here once you actually use the scheme for the first time. Was it easy? Will you use it again? Is there anything I’ve not made clear? Etc.

For those who haven’t registered, is there a reason why not? Any concerns or questions please contact me or post here. As mentioned already, the hardest part of this by far is in encouraging folks to use this scheme. So what I really need is for those of you who are not convinced to tell me why. Come on folks, don’t be shy.

PS And don’t forget. It costs you nothing to contribute to the team funds.

Have signed up, was easy to do, got a bit nervous when I couldn't see any funds going in. However I went and read the T&Cs and it explaained that this doesn't show up immediately. Have done a bit of Christmas shopping already and an amount is now showing. Have forwarded the email to friends and family and have put it as a link on our website.
